Job Title: Expatriate Chinese/Asian Engineer (Luxury High-Rise Construction)

We are a real estate company seeking an experienced and highly skilled Expatriate Engineer from China or other Asian countries with a strong background in luxury building and high-rise construction to oversee and manage projects in Lagos and Abuja, Nigeria. The successful candidate must have prior experience working in China and be proficient in overseeing large-scale construction projects, maintaining quality standards, and liaising with stakeholders to achieve project goals.
Lead and manage luxury building and high-rise construction projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and timeline expectations.
Supervise site operations, contractors, and construction teams to maintain project efficiency and compliance with international standards.
Oversee structural engineering aspects, ensuring that design and execution meet regulatory and industry standards.
Collaborate with local engineers, project managers, and government agencies to obtain necessary approvals and permits.
Implement cost control measures to ensure projects are completed within budget.
Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures in compliance with local and international regulations.
Provide real engineering expertise on materials, construction methods, and engineering solutions.
Translate and facilitate communication between Chinese/Asian and local teams to ensure seamless coordination.
Report project progress to senior management and stakeholders regularly.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Construction Management.
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in large-scale luxury building and high-rise construction projects.
Proven experience working in China or other Asian countries on major construction projects.
Strong knowledge of Chinese and international construction standards.
Ability to communicate effectively in Mandarin and English (knowledge of Pidgin or Yoruba/Hausa is a plus).
Excellent leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with Nigerian construction laws and regulations is an advantage.
Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
Willingness to relocate and travel between Lagos and Abuja as required.
